Help! I am military member who took my XC-90 to Korea and am having trouble explaining my problem to the dealer and getting anything done because the car starts fine when I take it in.

Occasionally, typically on hot days, my XC-90 will not turn over when engine is warm. Yes, it is in Park; Yes, the battery is good. When the key is turned to the accessory position, you hear all the normal sounds; when you go to the start position, the starter motor does not come on. I have had occasional success by waiting a few minutes, jiggling the starter motor wire harness, but just as many times it doesn't work. My wife is convinced that shaking the car does it (rocking it, and slamming the doors). I'm typically pretty good with cars/mechanical items and troubleshooting, but I can't seem to figure this one out.

Am I alone in having this problem, or have others had the same? If so, what was done so I can tell my dealer and get it fixed.

Unfortunately, when I took it in, the car started fine...continually for 30 min while the technician started it every 10 seconds. Frankly, I'm pissed off at the rookie troubleshooting because I have no doubt that the starting motor is not designed to start the engine over 100 times in 30 minutes. Alas, the dealer couldn't repeat the gripe, so they sent me away.
