Drives: 1991 volvo 740 wagon
I have only had my volvo for 4 months now and I am at my wits end. I know I need new battery cables for starters but when I am charged and I try to start my car I have to keep pumping the gas til it get going. Then it runs smooth. I am very agravated and don't know if i should just get another car or fix it. Does anyone have any advice about what the problem could be.

Hi -- sorry I don't have an answer right off. Can you describe the problem a little more? When you say "charged" do you mean that someone is giving you a jump, and you have to revv the engine to get it going? Any other symptoms like a weak battery or dying alternator -- not holding a charge, etc? I don't know if the cable connections are the answer or not. Let us know.
