Hi I own a Volvo S60T 2.4T triptronic 2001 with 72K Km/ 45 K Miles
It has always been serviced at Volvo dealer and now the automatic transmission is completly out of order.
There is a delay in shifting gears it shift gears extremly viloent and with a big clonk noice.
When I drive in manual triptronic mode it is better but it still clonks gears in now and then. In fully automatic drive it is terrible.
I have had it in for a check up at the Volvo dealer and they say I need a new complete transmission. That sound extremly poor for short milage like this.
They will offer some kind of goodwill deal maybe 50/50 splitd but if it still is going to cost me 2500 USD it is outragous.
I have also been told that several other rubber bushings and motor fixture needs replacement which is another 1500 USD.
Anybody who have been able to get a better deal with volvo by claiming transmission?
Or have anybody found cheaper alternative solutions for fixing the transmission? This is my first Volvo and by far the worst car I have owned. I will never buy any more Volvos in the future. (I am Swedish)

Patrick, Swedish expat presently working in Mexico City.

hey patrick, i think that there was a recall concerning the transmissions on those model years. i would do an internet search and find if there is a recall or a service bulletin, write down the number, and show it to the dealership. from what i had heard, it is done free of charge. good luck and keep us posted.
