I was under my car today because for some reason i thought the tranny mount was loose, but instead all i saw was this.

All in all the mount wasnt loose.

I have the same bracket on my 91 240. I think from the marks that were on my downpipe, that the bracket is meant to clamp the downpipe solid to the bell housing.

yeah that was my guess too.

Right now i have to replace the flange between the downpipe and the manifold after that i'll probably bolt it directly. Does anyone think that the loose flange is due to the bracket not tightened to the pipe?
