on a 02 s60 2.4 fwd

if i bought parts of the rear bumper online could i install it myself?
im just thinking of the cover and maybe the molding of the rear.

the auto shop is asking about 90 dollars to do the repair so i was thinking maybe i could do it myself?

has anyone done this before? and so can i find out how to do it or give me instruction? :)

thanks :liebe011:

Yes you can do it yourself, but $90 isn't bad to get it installed from the shop. If you've never done your own auto repair before or aren't mechanically inclined I'd leave it to the professionals. Depending on who you bought the bumper from also it may require painting.

I would tend to agree - I just had mine replaced after some plonker drove into the back of me.

I think the cost to have the rear bumper replaced was around £600 (parts and labour) and I think it came already painted all they had to do was fit it.

thanks guys, :)

the auto shop asking like 140 for the molding and 720 for the cover primer, i thought since car is sliver anc the bumper was silver/gray i was already painted when you bought it.

if i bought the bumper online else where i found that i could buy the cover and moding for a total 610, so im not sure what that price difference is.

you think if i brought parts into the shop that i bought online they would be able to fit it on just for the labor? lol

thanks:)
