My S60r developed a leak from the the top part of the sump about a year ago.
It was picked up at the service (78000) and the independant garage that does all my servicing thought that they had managed to seal it.
It started to leak again month later and i have just managed to get down to the main dealer that does any major work. They have informed me that volvo know that there is an issue with this liquid gasket but as the car is out of warranty i will have to foot the bill.
As they know there is a fault am i liable for a £3000.bill?.
Has anyone else experienced this problem that affects D5 models as well but as the garage said only S60's have a problem not V70's which i find strange.
Your comments would be much appreciated on this subject.

If it's a recall i would think they have to fix it at no charge. How it doesn't affect V70s is beyond me. I would check with another dealer.

Hi, the problem is on sealling the High pressure Pomp. Change the "O-ring" and you will solve the oil leak. It is a common problem on D5 but not very expensive to solve it.
