i have problem with the elm 323. Volvo says that it is obd iso. i can not get contact to de obd in the volvo.
If i work with hyperterm then i can only use at,ath0 or 1 and atz. i can not give numbers.
for example 0100 or 0101. by 0100 the car not respond
in the datasheet they write: 9600,8,n,1 no handshake. when i type at (enter) then i get ok. when i type ats00? then i get 000. numbers wihthout the at is not posible.
in the datasheet olso write that the (> ) is the elmprompt caracter. i do not have
this ether. The green power led is on. When i connect the obd or de rs232 kabel i see a few times red and yellow led flashing. afther a second only the green led is on

How i can see that it is the car or the elm 323 and what i can do voor connect the
elm to the car ?

the car is a volvo v40 2.0 out 2000.

The car is OBD2 compliant at that age. Why dont you get a program to read the codes like digimoto it should work with your cable as well. I dont really understand why you need to type codes in.

i have problems with my srs. i can not find any program thats work. only hyperterm do somethink. Not every program gives information about srs.
In hyperterm it gives some codes and i can see what is the matter.
and i do not understand why the elm 323 do not work by my volvo ?

I cant really help anymore but I do know there are different types of ELM interface but dont know if 323 is the correct one. ELM 327 covers all the other ELM interfaces in one though. I would try here http://www.scantool.net/forum/ as they will be able to help you I would think.
