Drives: volvo 740gl estate
Had central locking fail after changing unrelated fuse that went due to age . 1989 740 Estate (Wagon).

Tried the fuse, relay, all wiring looked OK. After much hair pulling, dont have much to begin with, I located the problem.

I removed the fuse box/relay panel turned it upside down and discovered the supply wire was loose. This had been butchered by a previous attempt to 'repair' it and the spade would just not fit back into the relay base.

The cure was simple. I cut it off and crimped another terminal on to the supply wire re fitted the relay to its base then pushed the new terminal home.

Makes me wonder what other delights await me in other places on the car.

Still I am happy now and can at least unlock/lock my doors, a bonus this summer with all the rain we have had!
