Hello everyone, 1st time post. I've done a search on the S40 alarm, but can't quite find the answer to my problem. The car went for its service last week and all was well. Today a neighbour knocked my front door to say my hazard lights were flashing. I went outside and found the alarm had gone off but the siren hadn't. I've checked all the fuses in both the engine compartment and also under the drivers footwell. All appear to be ok. So I sat in the car and set the alarm, waited 1 min and started to move about. This activated the alarm, but once again the siren didn't go off. Whilst in the car you can hear the relay activating the hazard lights. Now my question, can someone tell me where the siren is located, as I can't see/hear :P it. I've looked in the engine compartment, but I think I must be blind.

Any help would be great. Also it's a 1.8 sports lux 53 plate.

Just an update, the siren is located under the drivers side wing, just behind the indicator. It is mounted on a bracket which is secured by 2 bolts. After removal I took the cover off the siren to find a 7.2v NiMh battery installed. I removed this for 10 mins then reconned it all back together. Shock...... It now works a treat.
