hey people i have a 98 s70 t5 and the antenna hasnt been going up all the way for a while now. yeah ive tried wd40 and that didnt work. i dont think it is a mechanical problem because it will go up less than half way when you put the key in the ignition. iam not sure if i should get the whole thing replaced or try to fix it. if anyone knows or can post directions on how to fix the antenna that would be great.

Could be slightly bent preventing it from going to full mast. Build up of dirt and grime may also be the culprit, but hard to clean when you can't get to the dirty parts. Replace the antenna or the mast, not a difficult job. Posts on this forum, and Volvospeed maintenance section Bay 13. Good Luck.

that was for the whole unit, you only want the mast part, you will take the old unit out, remove the mast, insert the nylon reel and reattach the unit to the car.
