I have a 2000 s80 and the medal strips in the front and rear of the moon roof have come off and I found them sitting in the roof where thy fell and stayed...
Can anyone tell me how to put them back on or will I have to replace the whole glass with them on it?

Thanks, Stamper

You can glue them back on with epoxy. First you need to remove the glass by retracting it slightly, then pull down the "accordion" plastic cover and remove the torx screws. Then the glass will come out the top. Put the glass top-down on a table, put the glue on and press the metal strips in place, then hold them down with weights or tape until the glue is dry. Good luck.

Can you give a little more detail of putting this back together. I bought the car with the bar out already and I don't know if I have all the pieces.

Thanks

The bar just falls off by itself when the glue gives up the ghost after a while.

Maybe this will help: Sunroof removal

Once you get the glass out you will see an area on the bottom of the glass where the reinforcement bar used to be. Use epoxy to glue it back on there, then reassemble.

If you are missing the bar completely, you can either live with the roof as it is or you will probably have to buy a new glass - I doubt if the bars are available separately.

You can try these places for a used glass:

V and S
