Hi all I finally tracked down an annoying rattle, turns out that the pipe that goes to the exhaust manifold is broken. I'm wondering what the pipe is called and how much of a pain it is to replace. I've had a quick look at a couple of parts website and can't find it anywhere. To me it looks like an air pipe that blows air on to the manifold?????

Any input would be great.

Cheers,
matt

That hose mixes warm air from the exhaust manifold with cold air from the normal intake - the problem is the flapper thermostat inside the air box can stick open, always bringing in hot air, cooking the AMM. The benefit is some MPG increases.

I would find a replacement at a junkyard OR remove the hose and cap off the opening (my not pass inspection).
