Hello,

Can someone tell me how can I adjust the kickdown cable to make the gear change quicker on my 940..?

The crimp stopper on mine is currently at the cable sleeve without any gap. At the throttle spool, it's not tight, just right. The first 3 gears I can fathom, shifting in mostly about 1700 rpm, but the 4th is like, only changing when the rpm reaches 2200-2300.

How much gap do I have to leave between the crimp and the cable sleeve for the gears to engage earlier..

I live in a near flat town without much gradients around. Like to save a bit on fuel.

P.s. When do I need to flush the auto-tranny fluid.? The previous owner used AC Delco Dexron III for both his auto and power steering. That OK.?

Hi everyone,

I am thankfull to everyone here for being so helpful.

The kickdown issue has been resolved thanks to an anonymous who sent me an email and the link to a topic on the forum. It HAS been discussed before (by a chap called HAYWIRED), and I feel rather silly asking it again. I'll use the search option before I ever post another repetitive question again.
