Hi,
I bought a 2000 V40 T2.0 for my wife a few months ago & it only came with one key & one remote fob.

I have just found the spare key but no remote in the glove box. The key turns everything on & you hear a buzz when you turn the key but when you go the start position you hear the starter motor want to start but everything then stops. I dont have the problem with the other key. Does this mean the spare key needs to be programmed.
Thanks
Ian

That or it is a valet key, ie does not have the chip in it to start the engine.

The key need to be programmed to the car buy a dealer so the immobilser works. I have no idea why the ecu would have lost that key though.
