We live in Aussie, and have a 1987 240 Volvo. Very basic but solid.

Iam becoming more mindful of the amount of money I am pouring into our fuel tank. The screw type fuel cap we have on our tank is almost an invitation to knock off our fuel.

The cost of a genuine cap looks prohibitive, and will no doubt remain so until I lose a tank of fuel.

Does anyone know of a locking cap that will fit the 240 Volvo? With luck, I'll be able to pick one up at a wrecker.

Regards

Thanks for the advice and sorry about the delay in responding. Work committments.

I'll chase up a cap using Google as you recommend. Failing that, I'll be back in touch.

Thieves in my area don't mess with the gas cap at all. They punch a hole in the bottom of the tank using a screwdriver and a hammer. Then they fill their bucket and allow the rest of the gas to drain onto the street.

Sad, but true.
