Hi there my first post, I live in the UK Scotland, I received my lease car in May Volvo V50 D5 SE LUX.
I was amazed to find no spare, it comes with a tyre inflater kit. now it saves space but.
If I get a puncture I can put on the spare and get puncture fixed at kwik fit for nothing great!

Use the inflater and the tyre has to be binned and the foam and pipe to connect the kit that has to be changed after use. The cost 65 pounds for the foam and pipe add to that the tyre cost 100+ which means at least 165 pounds worse off.

I have to say I dont pay for tyres anyway as its included in the lease however if you are paying 165 ponds per puncture it could be expensive.

however volvo will supply the car with a spare as a no cost option but fail to indicate this anywhere that I could see (unless you ask)

Hats off to arnold clark the garage supplied me with a spare free of charge and I even got to keep the inflater

hope this helps anyone buying a new volvo V50

Steven

When I bought mine through "Drive the Deal" that option existed and I took it - and if anyone is looking to buy a V50 I do recommend them - service was really excellent and the dealer they passed me on to was equally as good with a nice fat saving :-)

Hmmmmm

That makes things clear, i was under the impression that you didnt legally need a spare, just that if you did have one it had to be legal!! my garage said otherwise!

I can now remove the spare out of the back, and get a load cover, car is LPG so spare wheel just in the back mounted on its side meaning i cannot have a load cover!! as the tank is fitted in the spare wheel well!!

ebay here we come!!

Cheers

Graeme
