I can handel the footwork, or man a team of "cell" pressman that can hit the events that volvos have in the states, plus SccA coverage in the midwest.
It would be an honor to represent the love and passion involved in these cars. However i can help.

you know, the weird thing, i almost had your company do the impala after i blew the motor/tranny and destroyed the front end of the car. when i called to ask about who would accept the car when i transported it over, i was told they would call back and never heard from them again. so i used arizona speed and marine to do the block and they had a local guy do the body work. anyway, good for you. retired before 40. sweet.

Can I just plant a flag here and claim this site in the name of me and crown myself an Admin? Seems to be little opposition.

don't know yet. i've been told, tentatively, that i "might" be on around the 20th. i am just an alternate, so if the regular doesn't show, that episode will be re-scheduled for a later date with me, and they would tell me at which track they would be at. from what i have heard, i will be in florida. they had told me that i would be reporting to saratoga, but not sure that the race would be there. won't know until i find out if i am called for racing. the waiting is driving me crazy. the producer of the show has told me that both cars, especially the impala, can't be matched up. accoding to their rule book, which i thought there wasn't one-but the insurance agent has told them, i don't have a roll cage on the impala, i never installed one, that i can't run there with the estimated time/speed that the impala can achieve. sorry, i am not dropping several thou for a race since i only use the car for fun. and the 850 can't seem to be matched up since there doesn't seem to be that many FWD cars coming on, mostly american v-8's. they said they should be planning some foreign car races in the next season. don't know. hope i can run, either one, i am curious.

it's really not up to me, as an alternate, who i wish to race against. if i was a primary pick, i would be allowed to choose what i wanted to race against. as the alternate, if nobody chooses you, you don't race. i guess once they have enough for a season of shows, and they don't use you, they roll you over to next season, so hopefully i'll be a primary runner next season. hell, then i'll just get volvospeed to do up my R, since according to his other post i've crapped mine out with the mods  , and i'll just clean house. and to myself and himself running against each other, honestly his looks more a track runner than mine. mine was built as a street racer while his runs a cage. either way, it would make for a great race. i would just have to call on all the greek gods to make sure his lane was super slippery. hahahahahahahahahahaha. maybe the impala would have a better chance against his R

QUOTE(Auckland @ Aug 8 2008, 05:21 AM)
If I remember correctly, the logistics about the buying, supplying, distribution of T-shirts around the world was going to be a nightmare.

It was generally agreed that the idea was good-but bad for all the above reasons.

One problem which came to mind-was who was going to pay for all the stock which did not sell?  If the member doing the distribution had other commitments, who was willing to take over?  etc etc etc

This is one of the reasons why I would like a forum specially to store all these various issues.  Just call it: The Limbo of Forgotten Heresies.  Anything we didn't want-just store it there!!  :P

Naturally, when I suggested that we prune the forum, I nearly had to get the UN to defend me.  New Zealand is not big on defense.

Yes, i too remember about this. But i MUST apologise that i have ALREADY started, but only on a VERY small scale. And sad to say, i dont even have the proof anymore.

I made this only for myself - since i spent a lot of my net time in this forum, and researching about the car that i own.

I made a simple decal using a font that was nearest to Volvo font (unfortunately, i DO NOT have the full Volvo font from A to Z) that read www.volvo-forums.com that i stuck at the cargo window. The letters were small, just about 2.5cms high, and italicised. But due to the quality of the sticker, after 2 washings, 2 of the letters w fell off by itself. Hmmmph. So i scraped the whole thing out. Have to find a new vendor for that!

I made a simple collared t-shirt in dark-blue (the kind that mechanics and DIY freaks would use to hide the stains of grease and grime) eventhough in this HOT weather, the wearing of such shirt is enough to signify one is prolly out of his mind (hehe). I again had the letters www.volvo-forums.com PASTED (not weaved due to the cost, since i was only making ONE piece) at the back across on the top part. And a Volvo embroidered badge stitched to the front upper left corner, above the heart area. One fine DIY day, i got covered in SERIOUS dirt and grease and decided to soak it in Clorox. Suffice to say you guys know what happened to the letters at the back, next. HAHA. The only thing that were still there on the shirt is the Volvo Embroidered badge. And i STILL use that shirt for DIYing. Because the color is just TOO good to hide the stains. HEE HEE...

In anycase...
:)
