Ok, ive posted arrow issues too, with all the post i hope to finally get this right. On ebay i found this shop in taiwan. they have the little brass tabs that contact in the pnp switch. they sell for 20.00. 10.00 shipping. i now have them here, just arived today, 5 day turnaround.
Starter inhabitor Switch repair
This kit can be only applied to the P/N:9466012 (volvo 850/s70)
and P/N: 9466013 (volvo 960)
1. open the back covr of your pnp switch by using phillips head driver to remove 6 screws
2. find inside the 3 copper pieces in the shape of a ( U ) and take them out, wit a magnetic driver
3. put back the new tabs as the old ones was
4. screw the cover back on.

now due to all the steps taken to put on the whole other pnp switch that i bought used, dumb ****, i will need a minute to perform this and see the differnce.
To me, i might of saved money here. but its just like a new pnp. well the important part.

Here is the info for others to try this.

well i wasnt sure if anyone wanted to see me overhaulin the pnp on my coffie table in my boxers! :haha: but the install went as usual, the tabs fit snug and the switch is working good sofar, shifting is back smooth.... the light flashed a couple of times, turned the car off then back on and it went away, so i drove it quicker, gave it the "test" and no light since. these tabs do work as good as a new switch, just apply new cunduct grease inside it. i think my issue may be in the tcm. like a short or electrical glich that triggers the fault mode in the trannie. Like, it does it more when i have the tunes goin loud vibrating the car. right now im accepting the accasional fault, my codes wont reset with the ports in the front, so till i clear the codes i wont know if the computer is cycleing codes and flippn out on its readings. But i do recomend the kit. saves hundreds.

ok, so im out today on a short run, everything was fine then i felt a hesitation, then the trannie upshifted one step then went back into overdrive, i got to the light, stopped then the arrow flashed. i proceeded tothe next light in hard shift mode. turned of the car, back on, light gone. i drove a mile, light back on, so my wife suggested i turn the trans to econ mode.... no light at all. then i got balls, floored it hit a quick 120 and down to the limit 55 in two blocks and wammo the light flashes again! i went home and did a code find.... 1-1-1. yea, 1-1-1.
what the hell? :o

not to mention the econ/sport switch has seen its share of sticky liquids... i have to get my nail under the winter button to get it to come back up.
could my switch be causing false selections to the tcm?
the TCM may be goin bad?
the selection indicator lights (green for econ, orange for sport) are brite when you first select the mode, but then fade out, matter of fact the sport one dosent light up since this pnp thing started.
i did two pnp installs, one used out of a low mile transmission, the other the same bu with new gutts.
ARRRRRGGGGGG! :blownose:

The selector light fading out seem to suggest a contact issue...?
Maybe time for you to operate the switch?

Yes, i believe so.

I have bought the older version of the switch as spare, and swapped it into my OBD2 system, and there wasnt any issues. (A new bloody switch costs almost RM300 whereas the used one was only like RM50, cant be sure cos i bought a few things at a time, and considered lumpsum cost...)

I hope yours will work as well.

UPDATE MEMBERS!
ok, per ther adivce given a millon times, i reset the transmisson codes, again.
I admit, i didnt clear the codes after this overhaul, i installed the tabs, and test drove, after getting out of hand signals from faults i waited for a flash, it came back 1-1-1, i cleared the code, even though that code means good... well two days of FUN driving, and no repeat code. Im waiting......... :57:

oh, and i have a switch ordered, lets see how that helps.
