Hi,

First poster here :)

I have a 2003 Volvo V40 which has a additional subwoofer in the trunk. The current headunit is a HU1205 which I'd like to replace with an aftermarket model.

I want to know how the subwoofer is connected to the headunit. Are there 4 wiringpairs (LF/RF/LR/RR) coming out of the headunit (where the sub gets its signal from the two rear pairs or something like that), or are there 5 wiring pairs (where the fifth pair is for the sub)?

If there is a seperate wiring to the sub, will I be able to use the sub with an aftermarket radio using a ISO-to-Volvo connector?

Thanks for any answers!

Hey Guy just read your question, i used to have a 01 V40 w/that same sub setup
i replaced my stock unit with a high end Kenwood, then tried i dont know how many wire adapting kits, all saying it would work with a sub, but no luck, i think it's one of those Phantom powered setups that drives those, even that ISO you talked about i tried, im not saying that there's not one out there but i never found it, i just opted for some 10' JL's and another amp to power everything,
I wish you luck and hope you find one that will work for you,
i now have a new V50 that is a whole new audio nightmare
