I just bought a 1994 850 and im looking to upgrade the radio/ tape player. How hard is it to remove the old console and put in the new one?

not hard at all, see the two lines at the bottom sides of your radio? push them in, they release the locks on the sides. then get you a wiring kit from walmart, good luck, try best buy, then follow directions to wire to wire, get you a din kit too. if you want to do something special get you a indash tv. wires up the same, plus the added fun of movies, and your system is expandable. look at my pics, thats a Dual 6.5 inch with full mutimedia and navigation, cost me 350 bucks on sale at best buy. just added new 6x9s and a new 12 n amp. GOOD LUCK!!! :grin:

oooor, you go the easy route and get to crutchfield.com and get the kit already set up for the volvo. that way, if the unit gets messed up, you call them and yell at them instead of the wife yelling at you. :grin: either way, it's an easy job. just pull on the little tabs when they pop out. the hook-ups are two wires.

AHHHH crutchfield.com , yea i forgot bout them guys, well now that everything is readily available without wait time ordering audio. I cant belive they still do that, oh yea, support from the mag. Anyways Greek is right, that is a fool proof way. :grin:
