Hi there,

I'm new here and have just become a Volvo owner for the first time. I'm from Cambridge, England.

I was just wondering if any fellow 850 owners have installed a 'wood effect' dash kit or even better have some pics uploaded that I could see?

My car is a late 96 850 SE Wagon - 2.5 20V.

Thanks
Chris

:haha: what? your 850 has no............WOOD? ok ok i couldnt help it!! i thought all 850s had wood except the sporty R. and for the record, if they do still sell wood kits, it may not look good, due to the design of the dash, mine came with the wood, its like its painted on, no seams, i hate it. it feels so lincon like. wood on the dash, diamond in the back, sittn on the sene wita gansta lean! :haha: im goin carbon fiber.

My 93, 850 doesnt have wood its all pure and black no shine and looks good. I wouldnt have got it if it had wood. I just hate that look, and its probably the only thing European car makers do that I hate. Ever see a porsche with it in it? YUCK! Ruins the whole car.

Heres some stuff I found, but the best place to look is on ebay. There were a few sites that were being sold in euros.

actually, both my R's have wood. both types. hahahahahahahahaha, ahem, anyway, the one that i still have has the tan interior with the platinum wood, the other one, which was sold, had the tan interior with the dark wood. that i think was custom because i had never seen a light interior with dark wood inlays. i like the look of the platinum wood, very swedish/ikea. the dark one doesn't look right. almost like my parents old cadillacs with the fake grained wood dash.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I picked up my 850 toady.....it's in MINT condition! The dash is all dark grey, which doesn't look too bad, so might not bother with a dash kit now.

Cheers,
Chris

I think the stainless or brushed nickel looks best.
