hello felows,pls help.i have buyed an OBDII cable from ebay to conect my V40 1.9 TD from "97 to pc.i have vadis soft and others smaller programs but it seems nothing work.all programs tell-me that can't find the interface on my volvo.
Can you tell-me please how can i look "inside" of my volvo please.the cable that i use is an serial-obd cable with the folowing scheme.

Drives: S40 T4 V-reg
If your car is a 97 model then it wont be OBDII compliant. The S/V40s went OBDII compliant in mid 99 just before the phase 2 cars came out. The only option are for Volvo to hook it up or this http://www.ilexa.co.uk/content/category/2/2/19/ but its not cheap.

If you car is later and OBDII compliant then those cables you linked require an elmscan interface, its a black box that plugs into the cable then into the computer. You can get cables with the interface built in but the ones you linked dont have that.
