Hi there - first time Volvo owner, just picked up a '93 940 non-turbo w/75K miles. Car is in great shape, literally grandma's car maintained to perfection by longtime Volvo mechanic. The only flaw is that the AC blows warm, but the previous owner states that the system has always worked perfectly and just needs a charge. This is probably a dumb question, but did the '93 940 come with an r135A compatible system, or freon. If freon, do I have to convert to r134A? thanks.

i am pretty sure that it is 134a, check your owners manual. now if it's not 134a, you will need to have it professionally converted, not that easy in changing the freon from one to the other. good luck.
