I have a 98 v70, recently when the ac has been on for a time 30min or more, if you try to lower the temperature in the car making the blower work harder, there has been a loud roaring sound from the blower but no increase in air flow. If you turn the ac off for a while and then turn it on again all is well.
When the noise occurs you can turn the ac button off just running the fan and the noise is still there.
I changed the cabin air filter which was dirty but no effect on the noise.
Any ideas? I need to go for a long drive soon and would like the ac to work.
