Hi everyone
I am new to this forum and I am hoping that someone might be able to shed a bit of light on whats happening with the central locking on my S60 D5 53 plate
I inadvertently put my elbow on the door locking button (front passenger seat) which seems to have thrown the central locking into disarray. The two back locks do not now go down when I press the key fob and have to be locked manually. When I press the key fob, only the front two doors lock and unlock. I have tried pressing the little button on the driver’s side which locks all doors when you are inside the car, and also locking and unlocking the car using the key in the lock, all to no avail. It’s a real pain having to reach behind to open the doors at the back to gain access.
Is there some special sequence that I should go through to reinstate the central locking? Or does anyone think it’s just co-incidental and something has gone wrong with the central locking itself?
Would appreciate any advice

I don't think what you did messed up the central locking mechanism. You might try pulling the fuse for the central locking and see if that resets it. Sorry I don't know which fuse that is, but you should be able to look at your manual and find out.

Hi try a UEM reset..

Close all of the doors and bonnet.
- Key in position II engine not running.
- Hold both the driver window and passenger window switches in the driver door panel in the closed or up position for 5 to 8 seconds after the windows are closed.
- Release buttons.
- Remove the ignition key.
- Operated the remote twice. lock/unlock lock/unlock.

Thanks to everyone, I tried the UEM reset..but it didnt work, but MOH changed the fuse and that seems to have worked, now locking centrally.
Co-incidently, we had a new tow bar fitted by Volvo here in France about 3 months ago and since then the fuse for the break lights keeps fusing, about every two weeks or so the message comes on to tell us to check the break lights, so MOH changes the fuse and they work again. So it may well be a short somewhere post tow bar fixation, which is now affecting the central locking and my putting my arm on the passenger button was just co-incidental??? Thanks for your help, it can be very expensive going to Volvo to find out these things!! :460:
