I have just got a 96 1.8le CVT. I have a few issues the engine runs very lumpy and I have checked the vacuum hoses and they were perished so I replaced them with injector hose (all I could get and is a perfect fit!!!) and the running has greatly improved. I have also changed the air filter which was really dirty. The oil does need changing and I imagine so do the plugs. Are there any other things to look out for and is there a way of resetting the ECU as the car has been running for ages like that. I have checked the diagnostic codes and all I get is 111. When on a reasonable run 20miles ish I get heat coming up from the handbrake area, is this normal?? Also I fitted a stereo and it works fine but there is no switch live it is constantly on (I have changed the red and yellow leads just to see but it made no difference) is it possible to change it so the radio only works with the ignition? I am forgetfull and will probably end up needing a jump start :blush:
