Hi Guys- hope someone can tell me what this is

It's a v hot day today and coming back from a short journey I noticed a line of drips from the rear of car.

(Volvo V40 1.8 V reg estate)

I located this under the bonnet- there is a rubber tube coming out- not from the engine but from the 'wall' (for want of better word) that separates engine compartment from the bit where the driver sits- underneath the windscreen in other words

It is a bit of tube- black rubber- about half an inch diameter, which comes out horizontally for about 4 inches then turns down 90 degrees for another 4 inches and ends- a liquid which looks and feels like water was dripping out fairly steadilly but gradually slowed and stopped- I put a jam jar under and it caught about and inch.

What is this? Should the tube connect to anything? Has something dropped off?

Coolant level is low- but having never checked this level before (I know!) I can't tell whether this has just happened.

Any answers welcomed- thank you for you attention

did you have your 'air-con' on ??
if so , it was condensation dripping off the cold unit and nothing to worry about.
