I'm not certain where the alarm box is in mine either.

On a side note, you may also want to check your local/state laws for such exterior lighting. I know in VA those lights are illegal. They used to be rather popular around here (and they were illegal then), but now you hardly ever see anyone with em. Don't know if the fad died out here or if they were ticketing people alot for it. If you like it, I'm not suggesting you take them off, just for reference, to check so you will know beforehand.

What color did you go with?

Just out of curiosity, do you know why they are illegal in VA? Here in Washington the LED is the hot thing for those so inclined, though I know a guy who still sells a few neon kits every so often. I just wonder if one type is legal and another not. For that matter though, I don't even know what the legal status is here. As mentioned, it does seem to be kinda played out, but it still looks kinda cool if done well, which in my mind means subtle. The phrase "all things in moderation" definitely includes under-car lighting.

I dont know why they are illegal here, although plenty of places sell them, but for legal purposes they are supposed to only be used on show cars, not on cars to be driven on the roads. I would guess it's a possible distraction thing. I was referrring to the neon lighting, but I expect with the way VA is, they will also include the LEDs.

Virginia is very strict about any aftermarket modifications.

Some other illegal things:

- license plate covers, tinted or even clear, both illegal.
- Headlight or tailight covering or tinting
- window tint (very strict...what is legal is hardly noticable, unless you have a prescription of sorts from an eye doctor claiming you need darker tint)
- Bumpers cannot be over 33" off the ground.
- Tires cannot protrude beyond the wheel wells.
- No more than 4 lights on the front of the vehicle (6 in the case of headlights that use different hi and low beam bulbs).
- Any lights on the vehicle above the lower part of the windshield (unless they are OEM) must be covered at all times. Having no wires connected to them and uncovered is not acceptable.
- We even have sound laws, if you can hear the stereo more than 50 feet away it is illegal to play at that volume.
- No stickers allowed on windshield, with exception of city sticker and inspection sticker (not even on the tint band or behind your rear view mirror when you cannot see anyways from the driver's seat). Had a friend ticketed for this for a small Oakley sticker placed behind the rearview mirror and you couldnt see it from inside the vehicle because of the rearview mirror).

I have gotten tickets in the past for most of what is listed here and this is just some of the laws. Many people do this stuff anyways and may officers ignore them, but it gives them reason to pull you over if they are so inclined.

yea, kinda stupid though. i havent heard of any true reasoning for all that but money. sounds sad. i really dont care but i wont go all out. guess its a game of chance. i think the pd should serve and protect, like the words say on the car, not serve tickets and protect the old and boring. blah, kinda vomited in my mouth a little.

Solve a robbery=man hours and expense. Book a motorist = no man hours and income + it looks good in the books :)
