The audio system in my S80 works fine with
store-bought CDs, but it cannot play burned audio CD.

The scenario is:

- Using Nero8
- normal Audio CD
- burn at 4x (the lowest rate my CR burner can burn)
- already finalized the CD
- Reliable CD brand (Imation CR-R)

What should I do to fix this problem?

I really enjoy driving my volvo, but riding with my
special selective tracks must give me a greater
experience.

Thank you very much in advance.

on my 850 R, i had a similar problem. i switched to TDK's and the problem went away. i was using Sony CDR's. i also found that if the CDr's are colored, they won't play well in my stock unit. not sure if that will help.

Didnt work using some crap HP leftovers I had...

worked fine using verbatim (my personal brand of choice)

I rate TDK but I prefer vermatim
Avoid sony like the plague, after 2 years they begin to peel, thus you lose all your data

Hi. i noticed that you are using Nero. Ensure that when you burn the CD that it is a audio CD and not a mixed use CD. MP3 files are quite different to Wave files. this is the type of file that you should burn. Nero will auto convert MP3 files if you request BURN AUDIO CD.
Most blank CD's are of quite good quality as they virtually come from the same manufacture.
I have experienced no problems in this area.

Get rid of Nero it most likely is the problem. Imation cd's are fine but they make ones labeled cdr-r not cr-r those cr-r wont work . Has something to do with making the jewell case or whatever. Use good old windows media player and make sure its a audio not a data burn style. And if that doesnt work check wich stereo you have and if its not a HU-601 make sure that it supports although i think all cd players support it ..Oh maybe its burning to high of a quality mark to try adjusting that...Owell i tried...lol.. Other suggestions
- use rarer 74min 650mb CD-R (most sold are 700mb with compatibility problems)
- burn at slower speed.
