Pick up trucks?

I think Harry meant the big-@rsed HAULAGE trucks, the FM10 and the FM12 among others.

I havent seen any pick-up Volvo trucks, though.

Cheers.

well, at the dealer here in town they have two trucks on display, well, one might qualify as a panel wagon wit no windows, the other looked like a willies car wit the wood on the side, but i once drove an 18wheeler volvo. best made motor, cab is the roomiest on the road (stock). just not to famous to the redneck truckers that like ther peeties!

A member of the local owners' club here, seems to be a veteran with the haulage Volvo trucks. And he goes bonkers everytime the drivers at the factory actually allow him to take the 8-wheeler (or is it 10-wheels?) out for a short spin at the factory car park. HEHEHE...

How much did you pay for that? You can get that brand name and those parts at auto zone for $40.00.

My girlfriends dad who is a dump truck/ 18 wheel driver enjoys MACK trucks the best, he had a Volvo, and said it just didn't have enough power most times. One guy quit at his current job and he snagged a 2007 MACK. So hes pretty happy.

thats what i thought. but the pipe is real aluminum and it has a o ring for the maf sensor. im not sure bout the oiled filter, herd its bad for the maf sensor.
well, how many times have you spent a little too much for something? it happens, but, it did push an extra 9 hp, dynoed it at the tunershop in town. not bad, but i was sure i could make this, but lets say its a first stage. ima put the diy magic to it. heres the pics in the car. oh and got a pipercross filter too.

It looks like bling, do you plan on furnishing a heat shield for it? Maybe a chrome heat shield brotha.

what? cant have crome under the hood? :haha: whats this world comming to? :haha: anyways, yea, i am fabbing a heat shield, but not crome, crome attracts heat, yea i know, crome intake, well it will go great wit crome turbo piping. but the 5 is a great motor deserving of "bling".
mabey those holes will make it bling more
;) my volvo is on the road to show and go. thats why my ride is dramatic, sometimes its not what YOU like, its whats in, its what appeals to the spectators, its what appeals to the MARKET. You see, this 850 has higher powers eyeing it. Im trying to stay "volvo" but win my classes. next is the "Tan" inside, goodbye, full coilover setup, v70 brake upgrade, 18's. then the paint. promise no crome outside, aside from the can.

Oiled filter is fine. All my cars have them and have never replaced a MAF in over a million miles of driving. As for the heatshield I would focus more on ducting first.

You are making a show car 850? Atleast im not one of those guys who likes to keep everything looking perfectly stock like those Bimmer guys on Bimmerforums.com I left that place as quickly as I got there.

+1 on volvospeed's suggestion. hey swed, you aren't going to cover that up with the top half of the airbox, are you? if not, just dump the bottom, cut out the sides and leave the base, drill the holes in that, turn the battery around, transfering it to the trunk is better, when the battery is turned, then you can start on an intake for the filter. if possible, you can fashion a box butted up against the radiator at this point, shielded at the rear and sides, the front would catch all the air coming in, a straighter shot to the intake, less of a bend as with now. and hey, 9hp is nothing to sneeze at, all with just a filter change. and also, the paying a little too much, we have all been there and still are. crap, look at volovspeed's ride. super sweeeeeet. and i thought my impala was wild.
