I am hoping some here might be able to help point out some specifics to look for on a used Volvo that my mom is looking at. She has been needing a new vehicle for some time now, and after I got my 850 wagon she has been looking into trying to find one for a good price she can afford.

In her neighborhood is a 1999 V70 X/C AWD wagon with 104,000 miles. It looks to be in very nice shape and they are asking $6,600 for it. The price range can very greatly from area to area, so the price isnt really in debate right now (for our area it seems to fall just under the Kelly Blue Book for one in Good condition).

What I am wondering is if anyone knows right off any specifics to look out for in the V70 AWD series. Any potential quirks about them or common issues? She cannot afford to buy a vehicle that will potentially need any major repairs right off the bat, although there are always unforseen situations that can come up.

Sorry, I didnt initially post this in the V70 section but that area seems to have little participation (only 3 topics in there), and the people here have been quick with good info. If you want to move it to the V70 section that is fine too.

Thanks.
