I've been needing to replace one of my Axles ever since I bought the car, due to a bad CV joint (possibly) and other potential issues. I havent even checked which one needs replacing, as I plan to just replace both front axles anyways.

What I was wondering is if there is anything else in that area that people might suggest replacing as well, while the front end is torn apart? Bushings, struts, mounts, etc?

Any suggestions?

The axles are expensive enough but I dont want to have to tear down the front end again anytime soon, so would prefer to just do it all at once. Even if items may still be in good shape, if they are easier to replace during this process I will probably replace them anyways. I know the shocks/struts could probably use replacing. Any suggestions on a brand or type for a stock 850?

If you're changing the axle, most of your worries can be put aside already. But the small things remain.

Look at the link-rod (also known in certain countries as end-links, or sway-bar links. Someone even called it ring-rock...like whatever, man! HAHAH)

While you're there, look also at the engine mountings, especially the timing-belt mounting (which is near the timing-belt).

Also the subframe mountings/bushings. If they're worn or torn, change them. But this can be done separately, actually.

Also the steering-rack ball-end, and the steering-rack tie-rod. If there are signs of play, replace.

Also the bushings on the A-arm. Or the ball-joint at the A-arm.

Quite a lot eh?
:)

Take your pick. There are many options out there.

If you want a simple stock one, you can opt for Bilstein's HeavyDuty version. Its only just slightly more hard than the original.

But then again, there's the original one.

If you want it harder, the Koni Adjustables are good.

Of go for a fully-customised one.
:)

Cheers.

Sorry, i was referring to Bilstein's Touring Class one, not the HeavyDuty one.

Cheers.
