I have a 95 850 wagon. When it;s below about 55* outside, and the car has been sitting, it does not like to shift out of low gear from a stop. If I maunally shift to 3, and back to drive, it will straighten itself out. Then it won't do it again for the rest of the day...it's fine. Changed fluid. If it's warm out, it will not give me any problems at all. Could this be a transmission fluid temp sensor gone south??

Did you feel any difference after changing the fluid?

no. I have a parts car, and thought I might just swap out the fluid temp sensor and see if that makes a difference. I thought it might be bad seals, but if it were, I would think it would be a chronic problem. It only happens in cool weather.

No changes felt at all, with the new fluid?

That's funny. If the old ATF is dirty, it would do exactly as you mentioned, but a first-time replacing, and second-time flushing should be able to fix that for good.

Check the PnP and see if it is OK.

The fluid temp sensor doesnt break down easily. I know for sure i havent changed mine in years.
