I still have the orignial facotry installed radio in my Volvo 240, my fm reception is horrible it BEEPS really loudly when it doesnt have a great signal I presume...but this is everwhere I go in L.A which is weird...even where there aren't so many buildings it does this.

Would you think this is a problem with the antenna? Or with the actual Radio and cables?

Help is greatly apppreciated. =D
I don't want to ruin the rather classic feel of my Volvo with an Aftermarket unit, so ill try this first. :haha:

Nothing is forever. I pulled the original AM/FM radio, SR-3122, out of my '86 a few months ago and put in an Alpine AM/FM/CD. This is just temporary. I agree it's nice to keep the original look and feel of the Volvo radio. But if it doesn't work you may as well have a brick in that slot.

It was very easy to remove and replace my radio. Thieves might not know it but I can pull my radio in about 3 minutes. And of course I still have the SR-3122. Just looking for a radio repair shop.

In my case it wasn't the antenna. The new radio is marvelous even with the old antenna. Whenever I get the SR-3122 fixed I'll put it back in and throw the Alpine in the landfill.
