Hi folks, just bought a V40 W reg 2000. First registered July 2000. V5 says it's a 1.8S but the only markings on the car is the 1.8 badge on the back.

How do I tell if it's an older version 2000 or newer 2000 model? Want to upgrade stereo to CD and some say compatible with 2000 onwards or 2000 and before. Plus I want to check the full spec and service requirements.

The easiest way to tell if is a phase 2 car is look for the larger bumper marker lights. Another way is to look if theres a cubby hole between the seats with a sliding cover(phase2) or does it just have two open cup holders between the seats(phase 1).

I have a phase 1 car, thought it might be phase 2 as it has clear headlights.
