With the price of gas going up, with it appearing to be solid to the mid $3 to $5 range, I have been going all over the different fuel conversions. I looked at CNG, but that was too expensive, and seemingly illegal looking for backyard mechanic to look at doing (although the only affordable way to do it). If you live in Utah, it would make sense because the price breakdown is like 65 cents a gallon compared to gas.

Here in Texas, we have a lot of Propane, and Propane Accessories just down the road from Arleen (Arlington). I can buy it at $1.85 a gallon to what it would be compared to gas (different weights of the fuel).

So then I research the actual conversion, and the one thing that has my attention is replacing the ECM with a generic propane ECM. How would that effect the 240? I am curious how this would also effect ODB?

The conversion kit itself would $1,400, which is not too bad because I intend to get 10 more years of heavy use with my car, not to mention if the Propane does work, it would clean the engine. Probably adds some extra life to the engine.

Thanks,
