Car 2002 S40 T1.9

The car was stalling when you came up to a light. (Daughter’s car)
“Oh the Check Engine light is on”

I went the GM dealer by my house and had the codes read. (Honest guys )
( because the Volvo guy charges $80 bucks just to hook-up an he is 25 miles away)

The GM guy said I needed a mass air flow sensor and the first oxygen sensor. $875
I told him to just order the mass flow …. ( I was kissed for $465 )

The car does not stall at the light anymore, but it thinks about it…

The codes that the GM guy gave me
P0107 P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input
P0131 P0131 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0101 P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem

I bought the O2 sensor on-line ($172 install $40)
I also bought an OBD II code reader online ($114) Clear my codes for free….

We cleared the code and I drove home ( no light on “great”)

The light came back on at next startup.

P0107 P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input
P0172 P0172 System too Rich (Bank 1)

I have checked the hoses every thing looks fine…But I’m not a pro.
Another Idea is a leaking fuel injector…
Pcv valve?

This problem started right after an oil change …
I had a K&N filter in ….I put the old air filter back on…

I’m $677 into it and the light is still on…. HELP!!!!!!

Prob not the answer you want, but I would just take it to the Volvo dealer. When they hook it up to the VIDA system they use, it will show a lot more than just a generic code like the one you get on your code reader.

It sucks to pay the dealer prices, but look at what you may have wasted going somewhere else. I learned the hard way too.

PS If you live near an autozone part store they do free code reading but since you bought a code reader I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
