VERY ODD . Also I see the switch listed on the 81 and up models but rarely on the manual 79 version I have . Ordering up new knob and switch , wish I could router out a generic and be done with it

Drivers wiper: is the mounting nut on the arm loose/does the pivot shaft turn? or is the linkage at fault?

OD- if od light is on, then NO OD. Relays known trouble spot, also corroded fuse/holder (11?) and bad/dirty wiring and bad solenoid (that one's $$$) If you NEVER intend to tow/carry full loads then a bypass plate is available in USA for abt $35-. Google. Relay is behind center console in dash, on the right I believe, and has 5 terminals. It's usually white. It can be substituted with an ordinary 4 pin relay and a bi-stable flip-flop made from a 555 timer chip, if you can find an electronics friend to make it up. <$5- + the relay. OEM relay can be dismantled and resoldered, sometimes that's enough. Not a job for amateurs. Good electronics soldering takes training & knowledge-it is a 'learned art'. Also, check tranny fluid-if old/dark-suspect not often chaged-could be damaged internal filter/sludge blocking things-recommend change tranny oil and filter-now, and at service intervals. Lots of grief on this reported here. Tranny fluid usually very specific-follow instructions to avoid $$$$ down the drain.

Hose-look for the other end hanging around. It took full manifold vacuum-there aren't too many things that need that in such a large size. Perhaps an actuator, a sensor, or electric-vacuum brakes (trailer?). Make sure it doesn't leak!!!!!! does it go to your crankcase ventilation system????? Underneath the manifold???

well thats odd . before i swapped the swith for a temp one to test it the OD light never came on . temp switch it came on fine like the manual says it suppose to .

Wiper . the arm from the drivers side moves but just not the shaft that is connected to the drivers side arm .

I am replacing the flame arrestor today the old one doesnt look well .

Switch is MOMENTARY ON function, press once to set, once more to reset, again to set ad infinitum. New switch may well make it work, if the old one was bad or had bad wiring-not unknown. OEM switch is more rugged than most commercial stuff I've seen. You could use a plain relay and a lock on lock off switch, but they'll wear badly with the high useage. OD will engage on flat, modest throttle abt 70kph (~45mph). I know nothing about the operation of a manual gearbox. I doubt it will be selected until you are in 4th, and then it may require a clutch operation to allow it to change up or down. READ THE OWNERS' MANUAL for correct technique. google for a download?

Sounds like your wiper pushrod is popped out or has a broken bushing, you'll need to take it further apart. It is remotely possible that if it had been iced up enough, it may have sheared off some internal part if switched on.

the flame trap connects (on mine) to the oil trap below and the air intake pre-butterfly above. Other motors I have seen have gone directly from engine breather to manifold vacuum via a PCV w & w/o flame traps.
