Hi There, This is my first day on this site so hello to everyone.

I have just purchased a 2000 X reg volvo V40 and have noticed a few problems. Can anyone help!
Firstly the clutch feels very heavy compared to my previous car and there is a knotchy feel to it when you reach the end of its travel (bulk head end). The clutch bite is also quite high 1/2 to 3/4 upper end of travel I have noticed a leak from the slave cylinder bolted to the top of the gear box so will replace this anyway. Does anyone know where I can buy one as all sites only list the concentric type? Is this a DIY repair and is the clutch slave easily to bleed through by just pumping the pedal?

Also I changed the oil/filter and since then I have a tappet rattle on start up which lasts for about 10 to15 seconds and is ok until switched off and started again. I used 10/40 semi synthetic . It is a high mileage car (120,000 mls) so am wondering whether to use a thicker oil. I have also added Wynns hydraulic tappet treatment but a couple of days ago and am waiting to see if there is any improvement.

Any way I am enjoying driving my new Volvo ( this is my first) but would like to be able to fix these problems to improve this new relationship.
