I was just wondering if hopefully somebody could tell me if this is normal. When I accelerate my S80 T6 and try to get on it it feels as if the turbo has some kinda shut off .. When you hit it it goes but then you feel it roll off and then roll on repeatedly when picking up speed. It almost feels as if the turbos are taking turns running. I dont think this is normal behavior and we just bought this car a few weeks back . So far its been great just a few little things that we hope to get fixed by the dealer soon . When I pointed out the problem to them it was weird. First me and one guy go around the block and he agrees . Somethings up. Then the guy in charge goes out with him and he comes back with oh yeah thats normal. If it were normal or if he had already known that they do this then he wouldnt have had to drive it. Right?...he woulda just said oh yeah all the s80's do that...Anyone elses do this?...Sorry I dragged this out....First chance at getting this off my chest and possibly put to rest!...Thanx for any help :)

Excactly! It almost feels like it suppose to be that way because it's so consistent. But it cant be. Ive seen some videos like on you tube and there s80's are'nt doing it at all. It's a 15 second quarter mile car. supposedly. It definitly doesnt feel fast when it's doing this. Mine does it on the freeway like from 60 to 90 mph . In the city going slower it doesnt seem to do it that bad but it still does it . If you hear of any fix or something please post it here so i can check it out. I'll do the same...Good luck we'll need it from what i hear..lol..

The turbo control control valve can do this when it gets old, it's on the front of the airbox. The original ones get gummed up with oil vapours, there is an updated design now so it should last alot longer.

 My 02 S80,T6 has somewhat similiar problem, although its an initial hesitation when flooring it..If going 30/40MPH and floor it, no problem,...I was told the same thing when I first bought the vehicle...Same old crap with the dealer...
I do get great mileage on the interstates running 75/80 mostly...(29-31mpg),
depends on outside temp., wind and altitude.....A fun car to drive but fussy at times..

My 02 t6 does the same under HEAVY acceleration. I've been told it's pretty normal for the twin turbo. The car still has great accelleration even from higher speeds like 80mph+. I don't think it's a big deal but I will check out the turbo control valve that S_E mentioned.

And this cars beaten mustangs . The good ones 92 95 fox body gt's and stuff. The way mine flows the power on and off im not sure if i would even smell the exaust on a mustang id be so far back??? I hope someone reads this and knows the problem. Paid to much for this car to be all lame ...lol..

Yes as a matter of fact they did. It was the turbo control valve just like atlanta t6 sugested and i didnt mention this at all to the mechanic so i know he was right when he actually said he thinks he knows what it is before even driving it. They also fixed sunroof glass wich was rattleing and the lights on stereo and buttons on steering whel need new software wich they got and installed so that all works to....im a happy camper now . I got on the freeway today and romped it and the friggin car glued my **** to the seat its like night and day . My volvo really is fast...lo... hope this helps ...thanks guys...

Such a shame to hear.

Just replaced mine with the IPD heavy duty TCV and I agree the difference is astounding.

Fabulous info!

I've been wondering about the twin turbo non-performance issue since I bought the car in 2005...now I have an answer. Hurray! Going to take my car in for a check up and ask about the TCV.

Thanks to all!
