Hi all,

This is my first post, so please be gentle with me...

I have a 2002 1.8 Gdi sport lux that has just done 150K miles and has started gaining a few odd noises that I cant find the cause of even after reading most of this forum.


first is a sort of clunk from the passenger side front (seems to come from the footwell area), when I stop and then when I pull away - however not every time.
hard braking doesnt change it and neither does pulling away with the steering turned.

Ive read all about mounts and bushes etc, but I cant find any guide to diagnosing the fault.

What / How do I need to push and shove to find the worn bits - I dont have the finances to replace the top mounts and the swaybar bushes and the bottom arms.


anyhow..

my other noise is an odd one...

I have a noise from under the middle of the dash that sounds like a loose ping pong ball rolling about.
when I stop it goes tap tap tap then I pull away it goes tap tap tap.

Its not a loud noise just REALLY ANNOYING.

Can anyone help??
