Hi, am trying to connect an mp3 player to the cd changer output on my 2002 s40. Can anyone confirm one way or the other if the cd changer on the hu-605 is an alpine m-bus connection.

Not sure on the alpine connection, although if I recall, Volvo typically used Clarion head units I think (maybe I am wrong).

Are you asking specifically about the Alpine because you have or can get a premade connector for an MP3 player? Or because you already know the wiring specifics for it to make your own?

If it is just wiring, we can probably come up with the pinouts on your head unit.

I also believe that Volvo has MP3 or Ipod cables available for some of their head units, if you want to purchase one from them (i'm sure it's at a premium if you do).
