Hey fellow Volvo'ers,
I am asking for some help for a little problem.
My brake lights work from time to time and I find that dangerous and hazardous.
I wanted to know if anyone knows the cause or help point me in the right direction to fix this little dilemma. Also, can anyone tell me where the brake light switch is? I think it might be a faulty or broken switch.

Hey Richard, We just changed the brake light switch on our volvo yesterday. Ours is a 1990 240DL. I don't know which model you have, but on ours the switch was pretty difficult to get to. We had to take off the panel under the steering wheel and look pretty far up inside to find it. There was a little switch that looked sorta like it attached to the brake (which looks much easier to get to), but that turned out to be the cruise control switch...You gotta look farther up. It took us a while but we found it and my husband changed it with a mirror and a wrench in less than 20 min. I hope this helps! Good luck!
