I have a 2004 S40 and love it. Problem is I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania and my car goes no where in the snow.

I have an explorer that I drive in winter but it in no way compares to driving the Volvo.

I was looking on Auto-trader and there are some 2001 XC70's going for about $8,000.

I have read a lot of bad stories about the 2001 models with computer, trans, and throttle issues. I am wondering if I was buying one with 100,000 miles on it what are the chances that the common problems may have already been resolved?

I really don't want to spend anymore than $8,000 because I don't plan on driving it all the time. Would the XC70 be a good all-wheel-drive or should I find something else?

My original plan was to get an Audi A4 Quattro but if I get rid of the explorer I want to get something similar to an SUV. I love my Volvo but I don't want to buy a bad car for the sake of having another Volvo.
