Drives: 2004 Volvo XC70 T5 AWD
While removing the sun shield, the rear view mirror popped off on my 2004 XC70 ! The post popped out of its retaining clip! The mirror seems to be fine, but is now dangling by its electrical cord. Who knew that sun shields were so vicious?

Does anyone have a reference for what to do to get at the circular retaining clip so I can replace the mirror? A page from a manual?

The mirror post is inserted into its retaining clip from the "roof side." Cannot be done from the interior side Other things must be taken out so that I can access the retaining clip from the roof side.

If I am in danger of wreaking more expensive damage by attempting this, please advise.
