I bought my 2003 S60 about a month ago and it had a single DIN Pioneer stereo in it that I was not happy with. I had installed the AVIC D3 in my truck back in February and now that I was driving the S60 to work every day I missed my stereo. I was able to find an OEM double din panel from Village Volvo in Boston. The trim pieces that I had on hand slightly larger width wise than the opening of the dash panel so I had to do some trimming. Heighth wise the trim piece was too small so I had to add a piece at the bottom. The pieces were two different textures of plastic so I had to use some plastic paint to blend the two pieces. They are shinier than I like and I am going to try to rub some of the shine out.

The AVIC D3 is a GPS nav system, DVD player. I also have the iPOD cable for it and can control the iPOD from the touch screen. I also have the Bluetooth module, XM, and back up camera.

I was worried about how much room there would be behind the stereo because the space behind the stereo when it was in my truck was very tight. I had to rearrange the cables numerous times to get it to fit. There is plenty of room in the Volvo and it went in on the first try.

Install looks good.
I'm picking up my 01 S60 this week and want to put a double Din unit in it too. I have had a bit of trouble finding a 2 din fascia to fit the 01. I can only seem to find the single din one in the first picture. What is the part number for the surround that you got, and how much did it cost you? I'm in Australia, i don't know if that will make it harder to get one?

I don't have the paper work anymore or I would get you the part number. It was about $40 US and I got it from Village Volvo in Boston Mass. I will see what info I can find for you.

Not sure if this can help:

for a s60R it seems that the Part number is: 8684591
You can get it at: www.myswedishparts.com
