Hi there, on my V40 ´97 the wiper intermittent relay is a part of the wiper swich. Remove the steering column cover (three phillips head screws from the under sideof the cover), Seperate the cover halfes, unplug the multipin plug from the wiper swich, undo the two small screws securing the swich to the column and ease it out of its position. There is one small connector on the side of the swich that you remowe when you have the swich out of its position. Mine was beond repair and was replaced with a new one , the swich is a peace of work as can be seen if you remove its back cover, look for burnt components on the circuit board.
