Drives: 1998 Volvo V70 front wheel wagon
V70 1998. The passenger side front door won't lock. The vertical post that sticks up next to the window does depress when the lock button is pushed, but the door does not lock (can still be opened from outside). I'd like to pull the plastic panels off that door to take a look, but don't know how to remove them. Thanks

Having just had the same problem on my V70 but on the nearside rear passenger door it turned out to be a sticky solenoid....only cure was a new door locking mechanism or a good second hand one as you cant just replace the solenoid.
