Have you checked the bulbs and the plugs at the headlight bulbs?
I have seen them melt before.

checked the bulbs and conections but both beams on both sides not working

Is there a changeover relay, or does the stalk switch handle this?
To remove the stalk looks like grief, the wheel needs to come of before I can get to the mounting screws.

If I knew the colours I could probe the wires for voltage.
Anyone have this info?

Found the problem, with the help of the wiring diagrams I got on CD yesterday.

When I removed the radio, two white and yellow wires that I thought were speaker wires became disconected from each other.

Seems the power for the light relay loops through the radio connector!!!

Ok Sorry I didn't know you had removed the radio lately or I would have told you to look there.
