I have a 2002 FWD V70. I need advice about how to access the Parking Brake adjustment. screw I have found instructions for other Volvo Models but I have not found anything for mine. There does not seem to be an obvious way to access the adjuster and I don't want to break any plastic with random prying.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jut had a quick look on VADIS. The AWD handbrake seems to be different from the normal 2WD cars. I have attached the info on VADIS on how to adjust the AWD cars. Not a lot there but it should be enough to get you started?

I recently installed a new set of emergency brake shoes, adjusted the pull-handle to the factory range and the brake still seems ineffective. The e-brake will hold the car when it is in drive but can easily be over powered without very much throttle pressure. At moderate speed (10-15mph), with full handle application, it will slow the car but not as expected. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
